Data protection

The Data protection menu is visible only if the device is having replication data or policies. Clicking Data protection opens the Copy Data page.

The following page is available under the Data protection section.

Snapshots

The Snapshots page, previously available in the classic UI, is accessible in the modern UI of IBM Storage Insights.

Note: Snapshots page is displayed only if your storage system is added through Call Home with cloud services

Navigation: From the storage system details page, expand the Data protection section in the left menu panel, click Snapshots to view the Volumes and Volume groups tabs.

The snapshots overview page provides the same functions as other resource overview pages, including search, filters, column chooser, settings, viewing properties through the vertical ellipsis menu, and export report options for better data management.

You can also see the following enhancements:

Values in the Volume and Volume groups columns are now hyperlinked. Clicking them redirects you to their respective details pages.
A new Snapshots column is available on the volume details page. The hyperlinked values in this column take you to the snapshots page, which is filtered by the selected volume.
The Snapshots column already present in the volume group details page is now also hyperlinked, enabling navigation to the snapshots detail page filtered by volume groups.
