Executing using the decision engine

You can test the execution of rules in Rule Designer by using the decision engine. To do so, you integrate the decision engine with a Java™ application. Use the Java Project for Rules and the template that is provided to instantiate a decision engine.

  • Decision engine
    The decision engine is designed to optimize the execution performance of your ruleset. The decision engine works in a similar way to the classic rule engine, although there are differences in the compilation and loading of the rules.
  • Limitations of the decision engine
    The decision engine is designed to offer better performance. However, it does not support some of the features that are supported by the classic rule engine.
  • Testing the execution with a Java application
    To test the execution of a ruleset in Rule Designer, you create a Java project for rules. Then, you edit the execution method and you set up notification.
