SAP Delta Extract connection

To access your data in SAP Delta Extract, create a connection asset for it.

Use SAP Delta Extract to extract data from SAP application systems using ODP (Operational Data Provisioning) extraction.

Supported versions

  • SAP ERP 6.0 EHP6, EHP7 & EHP8
  • S/4 HANA 2020, S/4 HANA 2021

Prerequisite

The SAP Delta Extract connection requires the JAR file sapjco3.jar and the DLL file sapjco3.dll. SAP JCo JAR files can be found through SAP Market Place. See Importing JDBC drivers for the procedure and required permissions to upload the JAR file to Cloud Pak for Data. The SNC support is enabled by downloading the SAP cryptographic library. The extraction method uses ODP Replication API 2.0 (see SAP Notes 1931427, 2232584, 1560241).

Create a connection to SAP Delta Extract

To create the connection asset, you need these connection details:

  • JAR file
  • Application or Message server
  • System number (or ID)
  • Group (if connection type has load balancing)
  • SAP router
  • ODP subscriber name (must be uniquely defined)
  • SAP username and password (or X.509 certificate)
  • Client number

To create an asset with an SNC connection type, you need these connection details:

  • SNC name
  • SNC partner name
  • SNC QOP

For Credentials, you can use secrets if a vault is configured for the platform and the service supports vaults. For information, see Using secrets from vaults in connections.

Choose the method for creating a connection based on where you are in the platform

In a project
Click Assets > New asset > Data access tools > Connection. See Adding a connection to a project.
