Network requirements for Db2 Warehouse MPP

You must designate specific network communication ports on the nodes that are used for Db2® Warehouse massively parallel processing (MPP) configurations.

Table 1 shows the ports and their usage.

Port Communication Usage Required?
50022 TCP Db2 engine pods for pod-to-pod SSH access Yes
60000 to (60000 + number_of_MLNs) TCP Each Db2 multiple logical node (MLN) If FCM is enabled

Ensure that these ports are available on the nodes that the Db2 Warehouse engine pods can be scheduled on. For dedicated deployments, the schedulable pod is the dedicated node. For non-dedicated deployments, all of the worker nodes are schedulable. Ensure that no local firewall rules are blocking the ports, either by using the iptables utility or the firewall-cmd command.

For cloud installations, ensure that no external firewall rules block this communication.

Tip: For more information about checking ports for communication blockages, see Managing data using the NCAT utility in the Red Hat documentation.
