Installing the IBM Developer for z/OS Eclipse client

Use these instructions to download and install the IBM Developer for z/OS Eclipse client and a license for the client. The product provides two options: using IBM Installation Manager (starting with IBM Developer for z/OS 17.0.3) or using the Eclipse p2 provisioning platform.

To verify that you meet all installation prerequisites and compatibility requirements, go to the Software Product Compatibility Reports. For information about client-server compatibility, see IBM Developer for z/OS client-server compatibility.

If you want to update the client to a new release, you must confirm that your current client version can be updated to the new version. For more information about update compatibility, see Updating the client to a new release.

If you want to install the IBM Engineering Workflow Management Integration feature to access source code in a jazz repository, you must first install the Developer for z/OS client. For instructions, see Installing the IBM Engineering Workflow Management Integration.
