Setting debug options for IMS applications

Follow these steps to set debug options for IMS applications.

Before you begin

Before you can debug an interactive IMS program, you must compile with the TEST compiler option and link the TEST runtime option into the load module.

About this task

When you link the TEST runtime option, you also specify the IP address of your workstation so that the address is included in the program. You include this runtime information automatically when you generate and build JCL, but only if you set the following properties:

Procedure

  1. Specify appropriate debug options on the Runtime Debug Options page.
  2. Select the Use IMS check box in the IMS tab of the COBOL Settings page or the PL/I Settings page.
