Setting default build actions

The Default Build Actions preference page captures the default build actions for each listed file type. When you create a build list for a z/OS UNIX subproject, these default build actions are used to build the items in the build list. You can change the build action that is associated with an item in the build list on the Default Build Actions preference page.

Before you begin

You can add new file types to the list of recognized file types on the File Associations preference page. In the Preferences window, navigate to General > Editors > File Associations. You can also add new file types when you add new actions on the Menu Manager preference page.

Procedure

To set default build actions, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Preferences window, navigate to z/OS Solutions > z/OS UNIX Subprojects > Default Build Actions.
  2. In the File Types group, click the file type for which you want to view the associated build actions.
All of the build actions that are associated with the selected file type are displayed in the Build Actions table. If only one build action is associated with the file type, then that is the default build action. If multiple build actions are associated with the file type, the build action that is the default build action is marked with a DEFAULT entry in the Status column.
Tip: You can use the Menu Manager preference pages to add more build actions for the selected file type.
  3. To specify a different action to serve as the default build action, select the action that you want to assign as the default build action, and then click Set Default.
The selected build action is now the default build action.
  4. To save your changes in the preference page, click Apply.
