You can use the following third-party tools to gather information.

• You can use Ansible gather_facts, which is included in all Ansible installations, to collect operating-system-level information about VMs. For details, see Gather facts about remote host(Ansible Community Documentation). In addition, community modules for different types of hypervisors and cloud services to gather hypervisor data can help you understand your source environment.
• Different hypervisors offer tools and APIs to gather information. For example, VMware offers VCF PowerCLI to automate tasks and gather information and the for environment discovery.
• For environment discovery, you can also use other third-party tools. For example, for VMware environments, RVTools might be an interesting tool to do environment discovery.
