IBM Sponsor contact information
IBMid Enterprise Federation requires that each Identity Provider have a specific IBM Sponsor, an IBM employee with the responsibility to facilitate information exchange and/or issue resolution as appropriate.
IBM Sponsors have close working relationships with EF partners. Generally, IBMid only shares EF partner identity information with IBM Sponsors on a “need to know” basis (for example, assisting with a support issue, etc).
IBM requirements
- An IBM Sponsor must be identified before an Identity Provider (IDP) configuration may be established.
- The IBM Sponsor should be notified by the EF partner of any significant changes in the configuration.
- The IBM Sponsor should have close relationship and is able to maintain in continuous contact with the EF partner.
Typical IBM Sponsor characteristics
- A direct employee of IBM (required).
- Most often part of IBM’s Global Sales business unit (Customer Success Manager, Account Technical Leader, Client Executive, etc.)
- Can respond to EF partner’s general questions about their IBM’s products and services.
- Acts as a “middleman” between the EF partner and IBM support teams.
