The Enterprise Federation Business Owner becomes the focal for ALL IBMid identity governance for the entire organization, independent of the IBM application.
IBM entrusts an individual in the Enterprise Federation Business Owner role with full authority to control IBMid identities for the entire partner organization. In other words, the Enterprise Federation Business Owner is the key focal for the Enterprise Federation relationship, and has authority extending beyond users of any specific IBM application.
For use of a given IBM application the Enterprise Federation Business Owner could be someone within the particular group/business unit that is using the application. However, for IBMid Enterprise Federation, the appropriate Enterprise Federation Business Owner is generally an individual associated with the organization’s central IT group, usually someone with span of control over identity and access management (IAM).
