Workflow options

When you work with workflows, you must create and modify the workflow database structures, configure event logging and statistics collection, and set performance parameters.

You can do the following workflow administration tasks by using the administration console:

  • Managing database fields for system and user fields: To take advantage of system database fields and user database fields, the names and types of the database fields that the workflow author defines in Process Designer must match the names and types of the fields that are created in the administration console. The workflow author, the workflow administrator, and, where applicable, the application developer typically work together to determine what fields are needed and how they are used.
  • Setting access rights: As a workflow administrator, you must provide the workflow author with the access rights for each workflow roster and queue. This information is used to enforce the security requirements of your system.
  • Setting logging options: As a workflow administrator, you must provide the workflow author with the event logging options for each isolated region. This information defines which events are recorded in the event logs.
