Installing Linux on a NVMe device in a multipath NED24
Each Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) device has two paths. Create a shared namespace and attach the namespace to the NVMe device.
To install Linux® on a NVMe device in a multipath NED24,
complete the following steps:
- Install Linux on the NVMe device.
- Power on the system to the system management services (SMS) menu.
- Select Select Boot Options (option 5).
- Select Configure Boot Device order (option 2).
- Select Display Current Device (option 6). The following
example output is displayed:
Current Boot Sequence (1) NVMe 343 GB Flash Storage, part=1 () (loc=U50EE.001.WZS000E-P3-C1-R2-L1 ) (2) None (3) None (4) None (5) None - Press the Escape key to return to the previous screen.
- Select Select 2nd Boot Device (option 2).
- Select Hard Drive (option 3).
- Select NVMe (option 6). The following example output is
displayed:

List all devices - Select the bootable NVMe device as the second boot device. Note: The NVMe device that is selected must not be the same primary boot device shown in step 5.
- Start Linux.
