Plug-in deployment security and authentication

Your IBM® IoT Connected Vehicle Insights service is provisioned and managed by the IBM Cloud team in a secure and protected environment in the IBM Cloud. The DevOps Plug-in Deployment REST API supports basic HTTP authentication. To authenticate to your IBM IoT Connected Vehicle Insights Development Edition by using the REST API, you must provide the administrator username and password credentials for your service instance.

REST API authentication credentials

You can find the administrator credentials for accessing the DevOps Plug-in Deployment REST API in your customer welcome pack. The specified administrator is a member of a group that is called devopsadmin, which is required for access to your service through the API.

Depending on how your environment is customized, you might also need to specify the IBM® Maximo® Asset Management credentials for the Asset Management component of IBM IoT Connected Vehicle Insights. You can find the Maximo Asset Management credentials for your service in your customer welcome pack.

File protection scanning

IBM IoT Connected Vehicle Insights offers anti-virus protection for your service. Any custom plug-in or configuration files that you upload to your service by using REST API operations are automatically scanned for threats and viruses.
