IMS Cloning Tool messages
Message format
IMS Cloning Tool messages adhere to the following format:

where:
- ppp
- Indicates the 3-alpha-character product code, GCL.
- mmm
- Indicates the module identifier.
- nn
- Indicates the message identification number.
- x
- Indicates the severity of the message:
- E
- Indicates that an error, which might or might not require operator intervention, occurred.
- I
- Indicates that the message is informational only.
- W
- Indicates that the message is a warning to alert you to a possible error condition.
Example 1: GCL31070I is the message ID for the message that is from the module GCL00310, has a message number of 70, and is an informational message.
Example 2: GCLVSE12E is the message ID for the message that is from the module GCL01VSE, has a message number of 12, and is an error message.
Each message also includes the following information:
- Explanation:
- The Explanation section explains what the message text means, why it occurred, and what its variables represent.
- System action:
- The System action section explains what the system does in response to the event that triggered the message.
- User response:
- The User response section describes whether a response is necessary, what the appropriate response is, and how the response will affect the system or program.
