Changed features

A removal notice signifies that the item can be removed, typically no sooner than two years from the time the notice was issued. No Liberty features or other functions that affect the Liberty zero-migration policy are ever removed.

Liberty removal details

Removal of Liberty items and features occurs no sooner than two years after a removal notice is issued.

The following table describes items for which removal notices were issued.

The third column lists which items are to be removed. The fourth column lists alternatives to the removed items.

Java SE 17

The Liberty end of support date for Java SE 17 is October 2027.

Use a more recent Java software development kit (SDK) or Java runtime environment (JRE). Liberty can run with any supported and compliant Java SDK or JRE, including IBM® Java SDKs.
