Post-deployment steps

When all subsystems are deployed, login to the Cloud Manager UI and begin configuration.

Procedure

  1. Verify that you can access the API Connect Cloud Manager UI. Enter the following URL in your browser.
The syntax is https://<cloud admin ui endpoting>/admin. For example:
    https://<cloud admin ui endpoint>/admin

where <cloud admin ui endpoint> is the endpoint that you specified in step 9 in Preparing the management subsystem for deployment.

The first time that you access the Cloud Manager UI, enter admin for the username and 7iron-hide for the password. You are then prompted to change the Cloud Manager UI admin password and email address. See Accessing the Cloud Manager user interface.

  2. Define your API Connect configuration in the Cloud Manager UI. See Cloud Manager configuration checklist.
  3. Take backups of your project directory and configure scheduled backups of all your subsystem databases. See Backing up and restoring on VMware.
  4. Optional: Take a virtual machine (VM) snapshot of all your VMs; see Using VM snapshots for infrastructure backup and disaster recovery for details. This action does require a brief outage while the VMs in the subsystem cluster are shut down - do not take snapshots of running VMs, as they might not restore successfully. VM snapshots can offer a faster recovery when compared to redeploying OVAs and restoring subsystems from database backups.
Important: VM snapshots are not an alternative to the standard API Connect backups described in step 3. Always take project directory and subsystem database backups.
