Installing IBM Quantum Safe Explorer on Windows

To install IBM Quantum Safe™ Explorer on a Windows device, complete the following steps:

1. If you have an earlier version of Explorer installed, uninstall it and delete the qs-explorer folder that is in your home directory (C:\Users\<username>). If this folder is not deleted, the installation of Explorer 2.2.2 will fail.

2. Download IBM Quantum Safe Explorer using the link that was provided to you.

3. Double-click the IBM Quantum Safe Explorer.exe file that you downloaded. This will open the IBM Quantum Safe Explorer setup wizard.

   

4. Click Next to start the installation:

   

5. Select a destination folder, or leave it as the default, and click Next:

   

6. Click Install:

   

7. Click Finish to complete the setup:

   

8. If you are performing a new installation, you will be shown the Software License Agreement page. Read the license information and click Accept to accept the agreement.

   

9. The IBM Quantum Safe Explorer window will open, with the message, “The IBM Quantum Safe Explorer service is running. Open your IDE to initiate a code scan”. Click Minimize to hide the application:

   

10. There will be an IBM Quantum Safe Explorer icon in the Windows notification area. To view the About page, click the IBM Quantum Safe Explorer icon and choose About IBM Quantum Safe Explorer:
