Mann-Whitney U test: Options

The Options dialog provides settings for specifying the confidence interval, significance level, and missing values settings.

Confidence interval
Sets the confidence level for all confidence intervals produced for the selected variables. The default value is 95%.
Significance level
Sets the significance level (alpha) for all tests. The default value is 0.05.
Case basis for analyses
Controls the treatment of missing values.
Exclude cases analysis by analysis
When several tests are specified, each test is evaluated separately for missing values.
Exclude cases listwise
Cases with missing values for any variable are excluded from all analyses.
User-missing values for categorical fields
Controls whether user-missing values for categorical fields are treated as valid values.
Exclude user-missing values
User-missing values are excluded from the output. This is the default setting.
Include user-missing values
User-missing values are included in the output.

Specifying options for the Mann-Whitney U test

This feature requires Statistics Base Edition.

  1. From the menus choose:

    Analyze > Group comparison - conparametric > Mann-Whitney U test

  2. In the Mann-Whitney U Test dialog, expand the Additional settings menu and click Options.
