System architecture

In general, IBM® SPSS® Collaboration and Deployment Services consists of a single, centralized IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository that serves a variety of clients, using execution servers to process analytical assets.

The diagram has four primary components: the IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository, repository clients, execution servers, and scoring servers. The IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository is connected to every other component using lines with arrowheads at both ends to represent bidirectional communication between the components and the repository server. The IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository is connected to a database server storing the repository artifacts. Execution servers are connected to the repository to indicate that some job processing is done on external execution servers, with the results returned to the repository. Scoring servers are connected to the repository to indicate that scoring may be performed on external servers, with the results returned to the repository. Thin clients that provide access to the repository include IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Deployment Portal and browser-based IBM SPSS Deployment Manager. Thick clients that interact with the repository include IBM SPSS Deployment Manager.
