Service definition activity

The following table provides a brief description of the values that can be displayed in the Activity column in the Service Definitions table.

Activity Description
Being viewed The service definition is being viewed by another user. If the z/OSMF role to which your user ID is assigned is authorized to view, copy, or modify service definitions, you can complete these actions. You cannot, however, delete the service definition.
Being modified The service definition is locked and cannot be modified because it is being modified by another user. If the z/OSMF role to which your user ID is assigned is authorized to view or copy service definitions, you can complete these actions. You cannot, however, delete the service definition.
Changes pending A temporary or working copy of the service definition was created, but the changes you made were not incorporated into the original service definition before you logged out or closed the task. All of the changes that you applied or saved are preserved. To incorporate your changes into the original service definition, select the original service definition and select Modify Service Definition from the Actions menu or context menu. In the resulting window, select the temporary service definition. Doing so opens it in a Modify tab. If you open the original service definition in a Modify tab, the temporary copy is deleted.
Being viewed, changes pending The service definition is being viewed by another user, and a temporary copy of the service definition exists. With proper authority, you can view, copy, or modify the original or temporary service definition; however, you cannot delete the service definitions. To continue working with the temporary copy, select the original service definition and select Modify Service Definition from the Actions menu or context menu. In the resulting window, select the temporary service definition. Doing so opens it in a Modify tab. All of the changes that you applied or saved are preserved. If you open the original service definition in a Modify tab, the temporary copy is deleted.
Being modified, changes pending The service definition is locked and is being modified by another user, and a temporary copy of the service definition exists. With proper authority, you can view or create a copy of the original or temporary service definition; however, you cannot modify or delete the service definitions. To continue working with the temporary copy, select the original service definition and select Copy from the Actions menu or context menu. In the resulting window, select the temporary service definition. Doing so opens it in a Copy tab. All of the changes that you applied or saved are preserved. You can also wait until the lock is released, and use the Modify Service Definition action to open it in a Modify tab. If you open the original service definition in a Modify tab, the temporary copy is deleted.
Temporary The service definition is a temporary copy. It has not been permanently saved in the repository. Temporary service definitions are listed in the table only when you log out of z/OSMF or close the task before closing a New or Copy tab. When you log in again, the temporary service definition is listed in your instance of the Service Definitions table. Other users cannot see it or access it. All of the changes that you applied or saved are preserved. To permanently save the service definition, open it in a Modify tab and click OK to save and close it.
