Modify,
View, and Copy Software Instance pages
You can
use the Modify, View, and Copy
Software Instance pages in the Software Management task to modify,
view, or copy the properties of a software instance. This section
describes the items displayed on the tabs on the Modify, View, and
Copy Software Instance pages.
General properties of software instances
You can use the General tab on the Modify, View, and Copy Software Instance pages to modify or view the properties of a software instance. The properties include the name and description of the software instance, the categories to which the software instance is assigned, and a summary of the actions that were taken against the software instance.
System and Zones tab
You can use the System and Zones tab tab on the Modify, View, and Copy Software Instance pages to select or view the systems and zones that either manage or describe the software.
Non-SMP/E Managed Data Sets tab
A non-SMP/E managed data set is a data set that is not updated by SMP/E but is associated with the software in the software instance, such as a procedure library, configuration file, or vendor product. You can use the Non-SMP/E Managed Data Sets tab on the Modify, View, and Copy Software Instance pages to view or identify additional data sets to include in and deploy with the software instance.
Products tab
You can use the Products tab to view, modify, or remove products on the software instance.
View Workflows tab
A workflow is a guided set of steps that help you perform an activity on z/OS®, such as configuring a software product or component, managing a z/OS resource or structure, or simplifying some relatively complex operation. You can use the Workflows tab on the View Software Instance page to view the workflows associated with the software Instance. The properties of a workflow include the name and description of the workflow, the sequence in which the workflows should be performed, as well as the location for the workflow's definition file. A workflow definition file may be managed by SMP/E, in which case the location of the file is specified indirectly using the SMP/E element type and SMP/E element name for the file. Otherwise a partitioned data set name and member, a sequential data set, or a UNIX file, identify the location of the workflow definition file.
