Modify, View, Copy, and New Category pages

You can use the Modify, View, Copy, and New Category pages in the Software Management task to modify, view, or copy existing categories and to define new categories. You can access these pages only if you are authorized to perform these actions.

Item Description
Name Name of the category. The name can contain up to 30 non-blank characters, including alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, and 0-9), mathematical symbols (< > - = | \), punctuation marks (? ! : ' " /), and special characters ($ _ # @ ^). The name is required and must be unique. Category names are not case sensitive; for example, DB2TEST and DB2Test are the same category.
Description Description of the category. It can contain up to 256 characters. The description is optional.
Action Summary List of the actions taken against the category. The table contains the following columns:
  • Action. Action taken against the category.
  • Date and Time. Date and time the action occurred.
  • User. User ID of the user who completed the action.

This table is displayed only on the Modify and View Category pages.
