Adding a Lotus Notes® document to an activity

You can add a Notes® document, such as an e-mail message or a page in a Notes application, to an activity.

About this task
When you add an e-mail message to an activity, it can be read by any member of the activity, unless you mark it private. An activity owner and the entry author can edit the subject and content of the e-mail message and can assign tags to it. Entries for mail messages are identified by an envelope icon: Icon for a mail message
Note: When you add an encrypted mail to an activity, it is decrypted before being added, which means it loses the original encryption settings.

Entries for other types of Notes documents provide links to the original documents. Members must have access to the document to open the link. After creating the entry, you can change its name, which is set to the title of the document by default, you can assign tags to it, and you can add a description. Right-click the entry and choose Edit from the menu.

To post a Notes document to an activity, perform the following actions:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • From a view in a Notes mail file or other Notes application, right-click a mail message or document.
    • From an open document, right-click the document background.
Select Lotus Connections > Add to Activity.
  2. Choose the activity to which you want to add the document or, to add the document as a response to an existing entry in an activity, double-click the activity, and then click the entry.

You can use the search control to search the list of activities and entries that is displayed.

  3. Click OK.
Results
An entry for the document is created in the activity. If the Activities panel is open, the activity to which you added the document is displayed.
