Probable cause in ChatOps
When an incident is created or updated in response to an issue, IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps automatically determines which of the related alerts were the likely cause of that issue. For more information, see About probable cause ranking.
The probable cause section in ChatOps displays the top three alerts, ranked from 1 (highest) to 3 (lowest) in order of probability of being the cause of the incident. To find more information, including severity levels of these alerts, click View alert details.
Where probable cause alerts cannot be ranked because of similar ranking values, a link is available to the Alert Viewer in the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps console, where all probable causes are listed.
Note: Where probable cause cannot be identified, the section Top Alerts appears instead, listing the top three alerts for the incident ranked by severity and first occurrence. A modal can be opened which shows the expanded alert details of this section.
