Configuring capacity

The Capacity service is used to define resource capacity across your fulfillment network and also to determine whether a location has sufficient capacity to fulfill an order. If capacity is defined for a node, you create capacity categories to describe the tasks that are required to fulfill an order.

Before you begin

Familiarize yourself with the Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard and Premium packages. For more information, see Sterling Intelligent Promising overview.

It is important to understand the following concepts.

Capacity category
The configurable units of work or tasks that are required to complete order fulfillment. For more information, see Capacity categories.

Procedure

Configure the capacity categories by using the Insert or update available capacity API.
Optional: You can also use this API to configure the capacity tagging.
