Adding features to a base installation

If you install WebSphere® Portal by using the Base option, you can add additional features as you need them. Not all additional features can be added to all base installation types.

  • Adding Personalization features to a base installation
    If you install the product using the Base option, the Personalization features, including the Personalization Navigator and Personalization Editor, are not installed. However, you can add these features manually after installation by deploying the Personalization portlets and adding the Personalization Navigator and Personalization Editor to a page.
  • Adding Web Content Manager to a base installation
    If you install the product using the Base option, the Web Content Manager features, such as the authoring portlet, are not fully installed. However, you can still add these features manually after installation.
  • Adding Web Content Manager to a base installation on z/OS
    If you install the product using the Base option, the Web Content Manager features, including the authoring and rendering portlets, are not installed. However, you can still add these features manually after installation.
  • Configuring blog and wiki template libraries in a base installation
    If you install the product using the Base option, blogs and wikis are not installed. However, you can still manually configure these features after installation.
  • Adding sample web content template items to a base installation
    If you install the product using the Base option, the sample web content template items are not installed. The sample content includes examples of web content template pages and predefined portlets that you can add to pages to render content. You can add these features manually after installation.
  • Adding feed readers to a base installation
    If you install the product using the Base option, feed readers are not installed. However, you can still manually configure this feature after installation.
