Moving from a trial license to a production license

Your trial license entitles you to temporary (90 day) usage of IBM® Data Replication for Availability. You can view the number of days left in the trial period from the Data Replication screen in the web console. To continue using the product after the trial period, you must obtain and apply a production license.

About this task

After the trial period, a production license is required on both the replication source and replication target databases.

Procedure

  1. Contact your IBM sales representative to purchase the product.
  2. From IBM Passport Advantage®, download the IBM Data Replication for Availability V1.2 Q Replication Activation Kit (DataRep_Avail_1_2_Activn.zip).
  3. On the host server, decompress the .zip file into the root of the /opt/ibm/appliance/storage/scratch/ directory.
    The license file name is idr4a.lic.
  4. On the head node host command line, issue the following command: 
    docker exec -it dashDB manage_license -a /scratch/idr4a.lic

    If your license is converted to a production license, the following message is returned: LIC1402I License added successfully.
