Backup procedure before upgrading to special build web console

Authentication configuration backup

IIAS users may use LDAP or AD for authentication. Users should back up authentication settings before any changes are made.

  1. Take a screenshot of the current authentication settings in web console.
  2. Document LDAP/AD configuration details in a separate file.
  3. If LDAPS is used, ensure certificates are available.
  4. Confirm the following:
    1. LDAP server configuration details
    2. LDAPS certificates (if applicable)

File backups from containers

Back up the following configuration files from the respective containers:

Web console container
  1. /opt/ibm/dsserver/Config/dswebserver.properties
  2. /opt/ibm/dsserver/Config/dswebserver_override.properties
  3. /etc/sssd/sssd.conf
  4. /opt/ibm/dsserver/Config/metadb.properties
dashDB container
  1. /opt/ibm/apiserver/Config/dswebserver.properties
  2. /opt/ibm/apiserver/Config/dswebserver_override.properties
  3. /etc/sssd/sssd.conf

SSL certificate backup

If a custom SSL certificate is used, ensure it is backed up from the following location:

/opt/ibm/dsserver/wlp/usr/servers/dsweb/resources/security/customCert.p12

Ensure the customer knows the export password for the certificate.
