Configuring IBM Spectrum Protect

Before you can back up or restore Integrated Analytics System by using IBM Spectrum Protect server, you must configure IBM Spectrum Protect client on the Integrated Analytics System appliance. IBM Spectrum Protect was formerly known as IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.

About this task

Important: If you decide to use the Backup and Restore strategy for IBM Spectrum Protect, formerly known as TSM, the logs are archived in the local appliance DISK:/scratch/db2archive/archive_log/. Contact IBM Support if you want to ensure that the logs are also archived in TSM.

You can configure IBM Spectrum Protect client for LAN-based operations or for LAN-free operations.

Important: In order to run LAN-free operations to disk, contact IBM Support for initial setup.
