How do I import on-prem events into Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf)?

In the on-premises version of Acoustic Experience Analytics, Event administrators can use the Export tab in Event Manager to export a set of selected event definitions and supporting data objects. The event definitions are exported as an Event definitions (.TLE) file. You can then upload the .TLE file and import the event definitions into Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf).

Before you begin

Make sure you have access to the Event (.TLE) file that contains the definitions of the event data objects that you are importing. In the on-premise application, you can export event data objects to a .TLE file.

To import events, you must be assigned the SupportUser or OrgAdmin role. If you are not a SupportUser or OrgAdmin, the Import option is not displayed in the Event Manager user interface.

About this task

When you are ready to move from the on-premise version of Acoustic Experience Analytics to the cloud version, you can import the Events by uploading the exported .TLE file.

Perform the following steps to import Events from a on-premise environment to Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf).

Procedure

  1. From the left-side panel in Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf), select Event Manager.
  2. From the Event Manager, select Import.
  3. Select the Event file (.tle) for importing Events.

The file is uploaded and analyzed by the system.

A status of what can and cannot be imported is displayed.

  4. Optional: Click Edit cookies.

From the Edit Cookies window, you can enter the cookies from the website on which Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) captures data for defined Event conditions.

  5. Add importable and non-importable hit attributes.

Adding hit attribute mapping can minimize the post-import configuration tasks and can improve the import operation. For example, say that the import operation indicates that a hit attribute won't be imported, but you know for certain that you have data for it. You can use the Add option to create a hit attribute and map it. This way the hit-attribute is marked as imported, and all other entities are marked as will-be-imported (when the dependencies are addressed).

    1. Click Add in the section of the user interface that lists the assets that can be imported.

Use the Add importable hit attribute window to select the Hit attributes from the .TLE file you uploaded, and map them to the hit attributes on the Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) system.

    2. Click Add in the section of the user interface that lists the assets that cannot be imported.

Use the Add non-importable hit attribute window to select the Hit attributes from the .TLE file you uploaded, and map them to the hit attributes on the Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) system.

  6. Click Import and Finish.
