Sorting products after picking
A store associate can pick products in batches and later sort them into shipments appropriately.
Procedure
- Log in to Sterling Store Engagement. The Home page opens. Switch to the Order Fulfillment View by using the eye icon.
- On the Pick Orders portlet, click Pick Batches. The Batches screen opens.
- Click the Configure batches icon. The Preferences dialog opens.
- Select Sort after pick as the picking method. Optionally, you can limit the number of orders that you want to allow in a batch by using the slider.
-
Click Update. An appropriate message is displayed, click
OK.
The preferences are applied to new batches and not in-progress batches. If the batch is associated with more than one department, click Multiple departments to view the information.
-
Click Pick or Continue for the appropriate
batch.
- If you click Pick, the products in the batch are displayed.
- If you click Continue, the process will resume from where you left off. If another store associate has already initiated the batch pick process, a confirmation message is displayed that allows you to either continue the process or exit.. If picking for all the products is not complete, you can continue to pick or short the remaining products. If picking is complete but staging is pending, then you are directly taken to the Assign Staging Location screen. Skip step 7.
- Either scan the barcode of the product that you are picking, or select the product and click
the
or
buttons as required to manually pick the product. After all of the products are completely
picked, a success message is displayed.
If there is a shortage, select the product and click Record Shortage. The Record Shortage window opens.- Select an appropriate shortage reason.
- Click Apply.
Note: If you have chosen to refine batch lines, then the products are displayed based on the option that you select in the Refine menu. If you have chosen "To be picked", once you completely pick or short a product, only the remaining products are displayed. If you have chosen "All", then all the products are displayed even after picking or recording shortage is complete. -
Once all the products are completely picked, you are prompted to either
Finish the batch pick process or continue to Assign Staging
Location to the products. Perform one of the following tasks:
- Click Finish to complete the batch and return to the Batches screen.
- Click Assign Staging Location to assign a staging location for each
product in a batch.
- On the Assign Staging Location screen, you can either scan a product for which you want to assign a staging location or select a product and click Assign. The tote assignment screen is displayed. If there are staging locations that are already associated with the order to which the product belongs, the system suggests a staging location.
- In the "Place in Staging Location" field, you can retain the suggested staging location. If
staging location is not pre-populated, you can either scan a different staging location or manually
enter the ID and then click Save.
Repeat steps a and b for each product in the batch. Once all products in the batch have been assigned a staging location, an appropriate confirmation dialog is displayed.
- Click Yes to finish the batch and return to the Batches screen or click No to remain on the same screen.
