Recording damage for packages
Some shipments may arrive with damaged packages. You can record such packages while receiving.
Procedure
- Log in to Sterling Store Engagement and switch to the Order Fulfillment View.
- In the More Tasks portlet, click Receive Shipments. The Receive Shipments portlet opens.

Scan the Shipment Number, Package Number, Product ID or Order Number.
If the scan results in a single shipment, the receiving screen opens. Otherwise, a list of shipments is displayed. You can select the appropriate shipment and click Receive. Alternatively, you can use the Advanced Search option to search for inbound shipments.

On the receiving screen, record damage for products or packages in the following manner:
Products:
- Select the product which is damaged.
- Click Record Damage. The Record Damage window opens.
- From the Select Reason list, select a reason for marking the product as damaged.
- In the Quantity field, enter the number of products damaged for the reason selected.
- Click OK.
Note: You may want to mark a product as undamaged after receiving it as damaged earlier. In such scenarios, navigate to the receiving screen and select the product that you want to update and click Record Damage. A window is displayed with the damage reason and quantity. Reduce the damaged quantity appropriately and confirm. The product is marked as undamaged and received.To record damage for a certain quantity of the product with a different reason, click Add Reason and repeat steps c to e
Packages:- Select the package which is damaged.
- Click Record Damage. The Record Damage window opens.
- From the Select Reason list, select a reason for marking the package as damaged.
- Click OK.
