Enabling customer pickup

You can keep the products ready to enable a pickup recipient or gift recipient to pick up the products on arrival at the store. You can also validate the customer details, mark shortages, if any, and print an acknowledgment for the products that are picked up by the customer.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling Store Engagement and switch to the Order Fulfillment View by using the eye icon.
  2. In the More Tasks portlet, click Customer Pickup. The Customer Pickup portlet opens.
  3. Start customer pickup in one of the following ways:
    • Scan the order or shipment number. The Customer Pickup screen opens. You can skip step 4.
    • Click the count at the center of the portlet. The Customer pickup orders screen opens.
    • Click Advanced Search, enter appropriate details, select Is this the pickup recipient? if you are searching orders for a pickup recipient, and then click Search. If the search results in a single order, the Customer Pickup screen is displayed. If the search results in multiple orders, the Customer pickup orders screen is displayed.
To sort the order search results, perform the following steps:
      1. Click Sort by.
      2. Choose to sort the orders by Oldest to Newest or Newest to Oldest expected pickup date.
      3. Click Apply. The orders are sorted accordingly.
  4. Click Start customer pickup for the required order on the Customer pickup orders screen. The Customer Pickup screen opens.
Note: Based on the expected pickup date for an order, an appropriate SLA indicator is displayed for each order so that the store associate can take immediate action for higher priority orders.
  5. From the Verification Method list, select the appropriate method to validate the customer.
  6. View the name of the staging location from where you can retrieve the backroom picked products.
Note: You will not see the staging location name in the following scenarios:
    • The application is configured to allow the backroom pick process without a staging location.
    • The application is configured such that it requires the user to provide a staging location, but the user performing the backroom pick skips it.
  7. Scan a product and the picked quantity automatically increments. Repeat the procedure until the product is completely picked up.
    • If a barcode scanner is not integrated, you can manually enter the picked up quantity and click Update.
    • If the customer picked up all products at once, click Pickup All.
    • If there is a shortage of products, click More Actions. The More Actions window opens which displays the picked up quantity and remaining quantity.
      1. Select an appropriate shortage reason.
        • If you select Cancel as the shortage reason, select an appropriate cancellation reason from the Cancellation Reason list.
        • If you want to apply the shortage reason to all products, select the Apply the shortage resolution to all products to be picked up check box.
      2. Click OK.
