Packing orders

You can pack products for orders that are shipped from the store.

Procedure

To pack products for an order, complete the following steps:
  1. Log in to Sterling Store Engagement.
  2. From the application menu, select Order fulfillment.
    The Pack orders portlet displays the total number of orders that are to be packed and the count of pack order tasks that are in progress and not started.
  3. In the Pack orders, use one of the following ways to view the list of pack order tasks:
    • Click the total count of pack order tasks or the counts of tasks that are in progress or not started.
    • If you have set the WSC_ENABLE_ITEM_PACKING rule to Y in Sterling Business Center:

      Select Product search and scan or enter the SKU or serial number of the product

      -or-

      Select Order search and scan or enter the order or shipment number.

    • If you have set the WSC_ENABLE_ITEM_PACKING rule to N in Sterling Business Center, scan the order or shipment number.
    The Pack order list page opens displaying the pack order tasks.
  4. Depending on the type of order that you want to pack, locate the order under one of the tabs. Type of order can be Ship or TO.
    You can sort the pack orders list by the oldest to newest expected ship date or newest to oldest. You can also filter the pack orders list based on assignees, status, and carrier.
  5. Click Pack order or Continue pack.
  6. To add products to a package, complete one of the following steps:
    1. Scan the SKU or serial number of all units of the products in the order.
    2. Select the product that you want to add to the package, and click Pack.
    3. Repeat for each unit of the product.
    4. If there are less products than required, click Record shortage, select the reason, and click Done.
  7. By default, the products are added to a package. To add products to a different package, click Add under Packages and repeat step 6.
  8. To pack all the products together in the current package, click Pack all.
    Note: The Pack all resource permission for packing orders must be enabled to pack all products together in the current package.
  9. Enter the weight of each package and click Update.
  10. To redo packing for one or more products, remove all products in the package and remove the package by clicking Unpack.
  11. Click Print packing slip to print the packing slip for the current package. Use the browser print dialog to print the packing slip.
  12. Click Done.
