Counting products in a store

You can count the products in a store to ensure that the inventory remains accurate.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling Store Engagement.
  2. From the application menu, select Inventory management.
  3. In the More tasks portlet, click Cycle count.
  4. In the Cycle count portlet, click a count that corresponds to the count tasks.
  5. In the Record count screen, scan a location followed by all units of a product in that location.
    • If location scan is not mandatory, that is IS_LOC_SCAN_MANDATORY is set to N, you can scan items or serials directly without scanning the locations.
    • For SKU-tracked products, scan one unit, and then manually update the quantity for the remaining units in one of the following ways:
      • Click + or - to adjust the units counted.
      • Enter the total quantity picked, and click checkmark icon to confirm.
    • For serial-tracked products, you can scan the serial without scanning the source location even when location scan is mandatory. Also, the quantity cannot be manually incremented. Therefore, you must scan all the units.
  6. If location scan is not mandatory and if you are counting inventory from multiple locations, confirm the location from which you are counting the products.
  7. During the recount task, specify the inventory attributes such as the product class and inventory status in the Inventory attributes window.
Note: The Inventory attributes window is displayed only for recount tasks. To select the inventory attributes, ensure that the inventoryStatus and ProductClass mapping is done by using the inventory-statuses API.
  8. Click Finish task.
Repeat step 5 and 6 for each location and the products in that location until all the count tasks are completed.
