Implementation
This topic describes the rules you must configure for receiving inbound shipments.
- The store associate must have the
Instore Receivingresource permission to receive shipments. - The store associate must have the
Receive a full shipment without scanning package or productresource permission to perform theReceive Alltask.For more information about configuring resource permissions, see Administering user group permissions.
- For both purchase-order and transfer-order, enable
Unreceivemodification rule forReceivedstatus atLineandRelease Linelevel. - For both purchase-order and transfer-order, enable
Unreceivemodification rule forProgressstatus atReceiptlevel. - Configure receiving reasons that a store associate can select when receiving complete shipment at once. For more information, see Receiving rules code.
- Configure default disposition rules appropriately. For more information, see Configuring default disposition rules.
Default Disposition Code is configured in Sterling Business Center for Purchase Order and Transfer Order separately and saved as rules.
- The
StoreReceiveShipment,ShippingCartonandItembarcode types must be configured appropriately at Enterprise level in the Applications Manager. By default, barcode types are provided for the Default organization. When you on-board a new enterprise, these barcode types must be created again or copied from the Default organization. - You must configure the receipt preferences appropriately for each document type. For more information see Create a receipt preference.
Enable the
Case Content Entry Requiredrule to mandate that a package must be opened and all the products should be individually received.Notes:- Based on the configuration, case content entry may be required for a package and may not be applicable to another package. Moreover, both package and product-level receiving are not supported for the same shipment. Therefore
Case Content Entry Requiredflag does not work ifItem ID,Line TypeandItem Classificationpreferences are set. - As of now,
Case Content Entry Requiredworks for Seller Organization and Buyer Organization values only.
