Defining and viewing milestones

Define milestones to track key checkpoints in the lifecycle of a status. Milestones help you measure progress, monitor timing, and provide visibility into lifecycle events.

About this task

Milestones represent important lifecycle checkpoints that are associated with statuses. They support lifecycle tracking in the following ways:

  • Track when a document reaches key lifecycle points.
  • Measure performance against expected timelines.
  • Provide visibility into lifecycle progression.

Milestones do not control status behavior. Monitoring rules determine when a status applies, and milestones record when the status is reached and track lifecycle progression.

Use this task to view milestones or create a milestone entry for a status.
