Creating accounts

Explore the steps to create a new SAP® ERP account. The connection enables SAP connector actions to connect to an SAP system.

Complete the following steps to create an account and connection details to use the SAP ERP connector in webMethods Integration.

Procedure

  1. Select your project.
  2. Click Connectors. You get a list of available connectors.
  3. Search for the Available connectors using the search bar.
    • Click Search.
    • Type SAP® ERP.
    • Click SAP® ERP connector.
  4. Set up the account.
    • In the Connection alias field, specify an account name by which the SAP® system is known to SAP® ERP developers, clients, and partners.
    • In the User name field, specify a name, which becomes the SAP default user for this account. If no other SAP username is provided at run time, then this SAP user account is used to run the client request in the SAP System.
      Note: The SAP default user is also used to run lookups to the DDIC for RFC, BOR, and ALE metadata. So, it is necessary to set an SAP logon user with the authorization to the mentioned SAP standard function groups: RFC1, SDIF, SG00, and SRFC. You can set a technical SAP user account with the minimum necessary set of authorizations as the SAP default user. If the execution of an RFC adapter service requires more access rights, then the name of an SAP user with sufficient rights must be passed at runtime.
    • In the Password field, provide a password of the SAP default user.
    • In the Client field, specify a three-digit SAP client number.
    • In the Repository user name field, specify a repository user name. Providing information to this field is optional.
      Note: If a repository user is provided, all metadata and repository lookups are run with this user account.
    • In the Repository passwordfield, specify a password of the repository user. Providing information to this field is optional.
    • In the SAP router string field, specify a substring for each SAP router to set up a connection in the route: host name, port, and the password, if one is provided. SAP router example: /H/127.0.0.1/H/ where H indicates the host name. The SAP router string is needed if a firewall exists between the SAP System and webMethods Integration. For more information on configuring the SAP router, go to the SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/connectors. Providing information to this field is optional.
    • In the Language field, specify the SAP language code. Providing information to this field is optional.
    • In the Description field, provide a description of the connection. Providing information to this field is optional.
    • In the Connection Mode Setting Selection field, specify the connection mode. Possible values include Standard (Default) or Load balancing.
  5. If the Connection Mode selected is Standard
    • In the Application server field, specify the SAP application server name.
    • In the System number field, specify the SAP system number (00-99).
  6. If the Connection Mode selected is Load Balancing
    • In the Logon group field, specify a name of the group you want to log in.
    • In the Message server service field, specify an SAP message server service.
    • In the Message server host field, specify the Host name or IP address of the message server.
    • In the System ID field, specify the system ID
      Note: Connection name must be unique across projects.
