Deleting client applications

A client application that uses ingresses can be deleted when it is no longer needed or when its integrations are not being used.

Before you begin

Consider the following suggestions before you delete a client application.

  1. Identify dependent assets and inform their owners.
  2. If access to any assets is needed, move those assets to a new client application and distribute new credentials.
  3. Update secrets in all environments, API gateways, and schedulers.
  4. Validate that all ingresses are working.

About this task

When you remove a client application that uses ingresses, you also remove its authentication credentials. After this action, the client application can no longer access project assets through its ingresses. Related ingress setups stop working. The change keeps the environment secure because only active and trusted applications can connect.

Procedure

  1. Open your project and click Ingresses.
  2. Identify and expand the client application node that you want to delete. Both applications with and without defined ingresses are available for deletion.
  3. Click Manage > Delete client application. The Delete <client application> dialog is displayed. You can see the list of projects and assets that are referenced in this client application. All these projects are impacted by the deletion.
  4. Select the checkbox under each listed project.
  5. Click Delete. The client application along with its configured ingresses are removed.
