Enabling invalid or disabled accounts

Enable accounts that have become invalid or disabled due to issues like permission changes or expired credentials, ensuring continued access to external web services or applications.

About this task

By creating an account for an external web service or application, you authorize webMethods Integration to perform specific tasks on your behalf. However, occasionally, the configured accounts get disabled or can become invalid due to several reasons, such as:
  • User roles and permissions changed
  • The user does not have the necessary access permissions
  • The login credential for the external web service or application is changed and not updated in webMethods Integration.
  • The user has manually disabled the account connection

If the configured account becomes invalid, webMethods Integration cannot access data from the external web service or application, halting workflow or Flow service execution.

In such cases, webMethods Integration allows you to reestablish the account connection. To do so, from the webMethods Integration navigation bar,

Procedure

  1. Click Projects, locate the relevant project, click Connectors, and then click Predefined.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow that is at the left of the connector icon for the account connection you want to enable. You see the list of configured accounts for that connector.
    Note: If there is a warning sign beside the name of the account, it indicates that the corresponding account is disabled.
  3. Next, hover over the account name of this disabled account connection. You see three icons: Enable, Edit, and Delete. Click the Enable icon.

Results

This successfully reestablishes the connection and enables the external web service or application account with webMethods Integration. Also, on clicking the Enable icon, the warning sign disappears. You can now continue to run your workflows or Flow services.

Note: Changing login credentials for an external web service or application disables the account connection in webMethods Integration, enabling the option to reestablish the connection. However, in this case, Enable fails to work as expected and you must reconnect to the external web service or application by authorizing webMethods Integration to access the data.
