CI matching details for Turbonomic entities
When you add action approvals in ServiceNow, for the Turbonomic Actions that require external approval, you need the corresponding configuration item (CI) for the Turbonomic entity. The CI matching details can be configured under Turbonomic Actions > Settings tab.
The following figure displays the default matching detail entries in the CI matchings tab.
To access the CI Matchings page:
- In the Turbonomic Actions menu, click Settings > CI Matchings.

Name: The name of the CI matching rule.

Target Type: The target technology associated with the rule, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or vCenter.

Entity Type: The Turbonomic entity type that is matched to a ServiceNow CI.

CI Table Name: The ServiceNow CMDB table used for matching.

CI Table Column: The CMDB column used to locate the matching CI.
- View existing CI matching rules.
- Search for specific rules.
- Create a new CI matching rule by clicking New.
- Select one or more rules and perform available actions from the Actions on selected rows menu.
Creating a new CI matching
You can add additional CI matching entries by clicking on the New button within Turbonomic CI Matchings page.
To create a CI matching:

On the CI Matchings page, click New.

Configure the following:

Name: Specify a unique name for the CI matching rule.

Target Type: Select the target type associated with the entities to match, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Nutanix, Hyper-V, or vCenter.

Entity Type: Select the Turbonomic entity type to match, such as VirtualMachine, Storage, or PhysicalMachine.

CI Table Name: Select the ServiceNow CMDB table that contains the corresponding configuration items.

CI Table Column: Specify the CMDB column that Turbonomic Actions uses to locate matching configuration items.

Entity ID Used To Match: Select the Turbonomic entity identifier to use for matching. Available options include:
- UUID: Uses the Turbonomic vendor ID.
- Instance ID: Uses the cloud provider instance identifier.
- Location ID : Uses the location identifier associated with the entity.
- Managed Object ID : Uses the managed object identifier reported by the target.
