The Actions tab in Turbonomic Action Settings controls how Turbonomic Actions handles action approvals, action grouping, entity matching, and action retention.

To configure action settings:

  1. In the Turbonomic Actions menu, click Settings > General.

  2. Open the Actions tab.

  3. Configure the required settings:
    • Action Retention Time: Specify the number of days to retain actions. Action Retention Time fSpecify the number of days that Turbonomic Actions retains actions. For actions that are waiting to run, this setting also determines how long Turbonomic Actions waits before marking the action as MISSED. This setting applies to actions in the following states:

      • PENDING_APPROVAL

      • APPROVED

      • WAITING_FOR_CR_SCHEDULE

      • WAITING_FOR_EXEC

      The default setting is 86400 seconds (24 hours). By default, the action must be in one of the listed states for 24 hours before the Turbonomic Actions application marks it as MISSED.

    • Allow Previously Rejected Actions: Select Allow Previously Rejected Actions to allow Turbonomic Actions to create new approval requests for previously rejected actions.

      If your enterprise rejects a Change Request (CR) for a specific action and Turbonomic recommends that action again, you can ignore it or reconsider it. This setting has a global effect. If you turn it off, Turbonomic Actions does not create new CRs for any actions that you later reject.

    • Allow Combined Actions: Select Allow Combined Actions to group related actions into a single approval request.

      When this setting is enabled, if Turbonomic can execute multiple actions together, only one CR is created for those actions in ServiceNow. If the CR is approved, the actions are executed together. If the CR is rejected, Turbonomic ignores those actions. By default, the setting is turned off.

      Note:

      If a workflow is configured on the Before Execution, On Execution, or After Execution stages for any actions that are included in Combined Actions, the actions are executed individually, not together. For more information about workflows, see Automation Workflow.

    • Match Entities Using ID Only: Select Match Entities Using ID Only to match entities by their UUID (unique identifiers) instead of their names.

      If enabled, Turbonomic Actions matches entities by using only their unique identifiers. This option can improve matching accuracy in environments where entity names might change or where duplicate names exist.

      Note: Match Entities Using ID Only can help ensure consistent entity matching when names are not unique or might change over time.

  4. Click Update to save your changes.
