Using existing software prerequisites

You can install IBM® Business Monitor on servers where the prerequisite software is installed.

Existing application servers

You can install the IBM Business Monitor server on a physical server where an application server platform is currently installed. The following application server platforms for IBM Business Monitor are supported:

WebSphere® Application Server
IBM Business Process Manager
Note: Although IBM Business Monitor and IBM Business Process Manager can be installed over a common WebSphere Application Server base, they must be configured to use separate cells.

You can augment an existing WebSphere Application Server profile, or you can create a new profile to contain the IBM Business Monitor server.

Note: Although you cannot install IBM Business Monitor on IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, you can still monitor WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus applications.

Existing WebSphere Portal

IBM Business Monitor no longer provides portlet-based dashboards. However, your IBM Business Monitor widgets can still be displayed in WebSphere Portal. See the related task link for information.
