Migrating artifacts from IBM BPM Advanced V8.0.x or V7.5.x

You can migrate artifacts from a previous version of IBM® BPM Advanced or IBM BPM Advanced - Process Server to IBM Business Process Manager Server V8.6.0.

About this task

The following product, version, and release level combinations are supported as sources for migrating your business data and applications to IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0.

The WebSphere InterChange Migration wizard and the WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation Migration wizard were removed from IBM Integration Designer V8.5.7. If you have applications that you created that use IBM WebSphere Adapters, you cannot migrate the applications directly to V8.5.7. You must migrate them using another version of Integration Designer V8.5.x and then upgrade to V8.5.7.

You can migrate artifacts from Process Center first or you can migrate artifacts from IBM Integration Designer first. To migrate artifacts, complete the following tasks:

  1. Installing IBM Business Process Manager for artifact migration
    Before you begin artifact migration, install and configure IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 on a different computer, or in a different directory on the same computer as your previous version.
  2. Migrating Process Center artifacts
    You can export artifacts from previous versions of Process Center and import them into your new version.
  3. Migrating IBM Integration Designer artifacts
    You can migrate artifacts from previous versions of Integration Designer or WebSphere® Integration Developer to IBM Integration Designer V8.5.7. Migrating to IBM Integration Designer V8.5.7 preserves the basic structure of your existing applications with minimal required reconfiguration.
