Setting up notification when assets change

If your project depends on an asset that you acquired from the WebSphere® Business Process Management, you can subscribe to that asset and be notified by email if it changes. For example, if you have a project that uses a Customer Order process from the WebSphere Business Process Management, you are notified by email if the Customer Order process is updated and you can therefore choose whether to keep your current process or import the newer one.

About this task

As another example, say that you add a version 1.0 asset into the WebSphere Business Process Management. A developer imports the asset into Integration Designer for implementation. During this time, you add version 1.1 and 1.2 to the WebSphere Business Process Management. The developer is notified. He can choose to compare and merge his existing implementation with version 1.2 and then add his implementation to the WebSphere Business Process Management. Alternatively, he can choose to add the 1.0 implementation to the WebSphere Business Process Management, where it will be related only to the 1.0 version that you originally added.

To subscribe to an asset, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. In the Asset Repositories view, right-click the asset and select Open in web Client.
  2. Log in if you have not already done so.
  3. To be notified when the asset changes, click Subscribe to this asset.

What to do next
