Exporting instances to a CSV file

You can export data from the Instances widget to a comma-separated value (CSV) file that you can use the data to create spreadsheets or other reports.

For both the current page or all pages scenarios, the following behavior applies when exporting instances:
  • Only data metrics configured for display in the instance view are exported.
  • The database preserves the order of the metrics exported.
  • The database preserves the order of the instances exported based on configured sorting.
  • Child monitoring context information is not exported.
  • You can export both localized and unlocalized formats of metric types. Exporting the localized format creates an extra column for stopwatch metrics (in number of seconds). Milliseconds appear as decimals.
  • For date and time metrics, Excel reformats the metrics based on the system settings. For example, on Windows, you set the system settings from the Control Panel under Regional and Language Options.
