Administering the event infrastructure
The event infrastructure provides facilities for the runtime environment to persistently store and retrieve events from many different programming environments.
- Adding an event source
You can add an event source to your monitor model by selecting a registered event source from the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console. - Removing an event source
You can remove an event source so that it is no longer associated with your monitor model. - Changing the event consumption mode
You can use the WebSphere Application Server administrative console to change the event consumption mode for a version of a monitor model. - Reloading the CEI event service configuration manually (deprecated)
When you deploy or remove a monitor model application, changes are made to the Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) event service configuration that require the CEI event service to be stopped, notified of the new configuration, and restarted. IBM® Business Monitor attempts to perform these steps automatically, but if you have disabled the Synchronize changes with Nodes option in the administrative console preferences, IBM Business Monitor cannot automatically reload the CEI event service configuration when you deploy or remove a monitor model application. - Manually configuring additional remote CEI servers for a single model (deprecated)
If you want one monitor model to receive events that are emitted to multiple CEI servers in multiple cells, you must manually configure each additional Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) server before monitor model deployment.
