Viewing rule details

You can view the details of a rule in a decision table row by viewing a tooltip or by enabling the display of a dedicated viewing pane below the decision table editor.

About this task

In a decision table, a row corresponds to one rule.

Procedure

To view the rule details:

Use the decision table editor to view the rule details in a tooltip or in a viewing pane, as follows:

  1. In the decision table editor, place the cursor over the row header number on the side.
  1. In the decision table editor, right-click a column or a cell, and then click Decision Table Properties button Decision Table Properties.
  2. In the Decision Table Properties dialog, go to the Table view section of the General page.
  3. Select Show rules.
  4. Click OK.

    A new viewing pane opens at the bottom of the decision table editor.

  5. In the decision table editor, click the row header number on the left.

Results

The rule is shown in a tooltip or the viewing pane, depending on which procedure you followed. If you defined preconditions for the decision table, these are also shown.
