Operating cloud environments

For some capabilities, you can manage the systems and components in each of your cloud environments. For example, you can retrieve and view log files, create a data source to securely connect to relational databases, import certificates to securely connect to service providers, and manage applications.

Before you begin

To manage operating environments, you must have the Operator role.

About this task

Note: The options you see in the System operations view depend on how your subscription is set up and the capabilities that are installed.

Procedure

  1. Log in to your cloud subscription.
  2. Navigate to the System operations view of the environment you want to work with.
    • Select the environment you want to work with in the drop down menu and Click System operations.

Depending on the environment and how your cloud subscription is set up and the capabilities that are installed , the following options are available:

Applications Install and uninstall enterprise applications that you created in IBM® Integration Designer. You can also update the current version of an application with a newer version of the application. The installation uses default configuration options. If you need a customized configuration, such as mapping shared libraries or defining custom properties, contact IBM Support to complete the deployment.

After you install an application, you can start and stop it, and see the number of process instances it has in the running, failed, finished, and terminated states. Because an application might have process instances in other states too, use Business Process Choreographer Explorer to see all the process instances belonging to the application.

Alternatively, you can use the Application Management REST API to manage enterprise applications. For more information, see Example: Application Management REST API.

Server Status and Recovery Check the status of the server clusters in each of your environments. If a cluster has issues, you can restart the workflow system. For more information, see Checking the status of workflow systems.

Component Restart If an environment has issues, you can restart individual components of the environment. You might want to do this, for example, if you update data sources for business automation capabilities or you are developing IBM Navigator custom code and encounter issues with one of the components during testing of your code.
