Configuring budget targets
In IBM® Envizi ESG Suite, configure targets that are containers for budget targets. Budget targets are a type of bottom-up target that is designed to track cost information.
Procedure
- In Envizi ESG Suite, click Manage > Budgets.
- In the Budgets grid, click Create New.
- In the Create New dialog, complete the fields. The dialog includes the following fields:
- Name
- A unique, meaningful name for the budget.
- Description
- An optional description of the target.
- Measured in
- A budget is always measured as cost in the local currency.
- Lowest level of targets
- Most users choose to capture target values at a location level, rather than at an account level or a meter level. If you capture target values at an account level or a meter level, you cannot create target data at the location level. Budget target data values are aggregated up to the next level in the hierarchy at each step. Therefore, to prevent double counting of target values, you cannot configure target values at both the location level and the account or meter level at the same time.
- Effective from
- Defines the starting date of the period during which data can be captured into the target.
- Effective to
- Defines the end date of the period during which data can be captured into the target.
- Target status
- If you set the status to Active, the budget data becomes available for comparisons in the performance dashboards and reports when you view and compare cost data to a target. If you change the target status, the update or removal of target data from the datamart can be delayed by up to 24 hours. The datamart, which provides data for the dashboards and reports, is updated once every 24 hours.
- Click Save. The target is created and displayed in the grid.
